At 7:23pm on December 15, 2013, REW’s President Brad Pierce got a call from Angel Flight Southeast to help save a life. A courageous young patient and her father were flown by Brad to a hospital in Miami, Florida where she successfully underwent surgery to receive a new liver and kidney. While this particular mission touched our hearts at REW especially deeply, it’s all in a day’s work for the good folks at Angel Flight Southeast who coordinate an average of 3,000 flights per year for those in need. There’s never a cost to the patients or family members transported – the pilots donate their time and aircraft free of charge to help make a difference in the lives of others.
Angel Flight Southeast needs your help in supporting this great cause to make more stories like this possible. The organization is hosting a charity 5K fun run at the Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) on Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at 8am to raise money to support their mission coordination operations. This is a unique race where participants get to run on the taxiways and runways at a fully operational airport – it’s the only such race in the country of its kind. You can make a difference and help change lives by participating. The event is open to all ages and participants are free to run or walk to the course. Many of our REW staff members will be participating so sign up and join the fun!
