Trick or Treat Bread

This October REW wanted to do something inspired by the season, fun to eat and make. Our hearts immediately went to bacon and pumpkin. As with many great inventions what we envisioned was not quite our final result. Our result may not be completely original nor measure up to inventions like penicillin, or the Popsicle but that doesn't mean its not delicious.

Ingredients:
2 eggs
1/2 cup of milk
1/2 cup of shortening
3 extra ripe bananas
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup of 'Trick'
1 cup of 'Treat'

Directions:
Sift dry ingredients to remove clumps.
Mash bananas with vanilla and Baking soda
mix ingredients together in a large bowl
Bake at 350 F for an 1 1/2 hour

We used pumpkin seeds for the Trick - tasty but difficult to cut through. And chocolate chips for the Treat - maybe we will trypeanut-buttercups next time? (Chocolate lovers: You can't put too much chocolate in the mix.)

What will you put in for Tricks and Treats?
